They say when children are flying in their dreams, they are growing.
Babies are supposed to grow up and fly away one day. All kinds of babies.
What if they don't?
We were floating down the river with the kids this week and saw how a wild duck flew out of the cattails.
- Wow! What kind of bird is that? - asked one of the boys.
- A duck.
- I didn't know they can fly.
- They can. It's a wild duck. I guess chickens could fly too, if people didn't trim their wings and feed them too much...
- Yeah, I was thinking about that too! If they are birds and have wings, why don't they fly...
It's not enough to just have wings apparently.
One - they need to grow whole (or be made whole!) to be able to fly.
Two - they need to be wild and hungry enough to try.
Let's see, if i can do this writing thing here... sounds like a cozy challenge:
